My Experience with the AeroGarden

I first discovered the AeroGarden Aeroponic Indoor Garden about a year ago when I was flying home from Las Vegas. Bored, I was browsing through my favorite airline seatback compartment catalog SkyMall when I noticed a product that immediately caught my eye:

Black Classic AerogardenIt was the AeroGarden Indoor Aeroponic Gardening System. The Aerogrow Aerogarden is a fully self contained & fully automatic indoor plant growing system based on NASA technology.

As soon as I got home, I ordered one right away. A few days later, it came.

Better yet, the AeroGarden was a piece of cake to set up too. AeroGrow (the Boulder, Colorado based company who developed the AeroGarden) has made this thing a piece of cake to use and provided some of the most user-friendly instruction books I've even read.

In only a few minutes, I had my new AeroGarden set up and my first indoor herb garden was on it's way. The roots of the plants growing inside an Aerogarden are located above a basin filled with nutrient-enhanced water. At various times during the day, the Aerogarden will active a pump (don't worry, it's fully automatic) that pumps this water mixture over the roots of the plants.

Two florescent grow lights are located in the "canopy" of the Aerogarden. These sunlight-simulating lights are automatically switched on and off at the correct intervals by the Aerogarden's computer, so you don't have to worry about overexposing or underexposing your plants to the correct about of "sunlight".

Thanks to the advanced aeroponic technology inside the Aerogarden, the herb seeds sprouted in just a few days and were soon on their way to becoming full-fledged plants. Within a few weeks, I was able to obtain my first harvest of herbs. I've never tasted basil so sweet, chives so chive-y or mint so mint-y. The Aerogarden continued to grow for a few months and probably would have lasted longer, but I was excited to clear it out and start on a new seed pack.

Since I bought my AeroGarden, I've purchased a few more as gifts and everybody has absolutely loved them. It's so easy to use, it's really a great gift for anyone, green thumb or not.

I started this blog, AeroGardenInfo.com to show you how truly easy the Aerogarden is to use. But don't just take my word for it-try one for yourself! AeroGrow offers a free 36 day AeroGarden trial where you can see for yourself how easy and rewarding having your own indoor garden can be.
